El Frente Nacional Campesino Ezequiel Zamora a convocado a una Gran Marcha Regional Campesina, para celebrar el triunfo contra el Latifundio en las tierras altas de Chabasquén, estado Portuguesa donde hace más de un año 30 familias ocuparon la finca Santa Clara, reivindicando el justo derecho a las tierras y a una vida digna para ir construyendo la soberanía alimentaría.
Según la información suministrada por esta organización, "esta lucha no estuvo ausente de muchos sacrificios y la oposición de las autoridades locales, que defendieron los intereses de la dueña de estas tierras por largos años abandonada, emprendiendo una injusta campaña de desprestigio contra estas humildes familias señalándolas de bandoleras, delincuentes y traficantes de tierras, además del hostigamiento permanente de algunos sectores que valiéndose de su investidura utilizan instrumentos del estado para amedrentar y humillar al pueblo en función de cuidar sus intereses que son los mismo de los terratenientes".
El Frente Nacional Campesino Ezequiel Zamora FNCEZ, junto al pueblo ha librado más de una batalla contra el latifundio, movilizándose y siguiendo todas las vías legales para denunciar estas tierras ociosas e improductivas, logrando el presente mes la medida cautelar y con ello la posibilidad real de construir el proyecto agro ecológico del Asentamiento Campesino “Ahora Sí somos Libres” que se constituye como un referente más de tantos que el FNCEZ esta construyendo en otras regiones del país
Todo esto fue posible, dicen los dirigentes campesinos, gracias a las medidas dictadas desde el alto Gobierno lideradas por el Presidente Hugo Chávez, que desde su reelección ha profundizado la lucha por la tierra y a muestra de ellos esta la recuperación de 24 Latifundios, con el acompañamiento integral de las instituciones (créditos, asistencia técnica, etc.)
A partir de hoy, con el apoyo de la comunidad y el gobierno "es que nos enfrentamos a un desafío mayor, lograr constituir el asentamiento “Ahora sí somos libres” como un modelo de desarrollo endógeno para la región, nos ponemos a disposición para trabajar en esta línea con todas las comunidades del municipio y con ello fortalecer:
* El plan de formación política para líderes campesinos, a través de escuelas, talleres, video foros, etc.
* El aporte a la soberanía alimentaría del país, produciendo diversidad de rubros, a partir de un modelo de granja integral.
* El desarrollo de un modelo de producción que respete el Medio Ambiente, sustituyendo la utilización de químicos por productos orgánicos.
* El trabajo y la propiedad colectiva, como una manera de concretar en nuestras prácticas de vida: el proyecto socialista de esta Revolución Bolivariana.
* La participación de la comunidad en la construcción del Partido de la Revolución, el PSUV, donde Actualmente, compañeros y compañeras están participando como propulsores por la región
* La movilización permanente como política del FNCEZ, que en el próximo mes de junio convocara, a una marcha en Caracas, para presentar las propuestas del sector campesino para el PSUV y la reforma constitucional".
